Play-Based Learning at Corazoncitos Felices Academy
At Corazoncitos Felices Academy, we believe that children learn best through play. Our play-based learning approach is thoughtfully designed to lay a strong foundation in literacy, math, science, and social studies—all while making learning fun and engaging.
Through hands-on experiences, children explore the world around them in ways that are meaningful and developmentally appropriate. Our educators closely observe each child’s interests and developmental milestones, using these observations to create personalized lesson plans that spark curiosity and excitement.
Our curriculum features:
- Language and Literacy Activities that promote communication skills through storytelling, music, games, and conversations.
- Mathematics Through Play, where children explore numbers, patterns, sorting, and early problem-solving in fun and interactive ways.

To support our teaching team, we incorporate the Frog Street Curriculum, a comprehensive early childhood program that provides research-based strategies and resources. This curriculum supports our educators in building structured, age-appropriate lesson plans while allowing room for creativity and exploration.

Bilingual Learning Starts Early at Corazoncitos Felices Academy
At Corazoncitos Felices Academy, we are proud to be a bilingual early childhood center where children begin gaining a dual-language advantage as early as infancy. Our language-rich environment introduces both English and Spanish through songs, stories, routines, and meaningful interactions designed to build strong communication skills and cultural awareness.
We also integrate American Sign Language (ASL) starting in our infant and toddler classrooms. ASL enhances early communication by giving children tools to express themselves before they can speak, supporting both language development and social-emotional growth.
Our bilingual instruction continues through all age groups, including our New Mexico PreK program, with a long-term goal of achieving balanced 50/50 English and Spanish instruction. Children gain confidence in expressing themselves, expand their vocabulary in both languages, and develop important skills that prepare them for success in school and in life.
